For Parents

Turn your high schooler's year into application proof.

A 9-month cohort for juniors and seniors. One friendly video meetup each month, one small assignment in between, and one real project that gives them the stories, the references, and the evidence college and scholarship readers can actually see.

Beta is live: about 70 students are running the curriculum this year through an honors program partnership, plus a smaller private cohort.

The challenge isn't finding activities. It's helping students show what those activities actually prove.

What they actually build

This is not another course to put on a transcript. It is a system for capturing and communicating the value of work they are already doing — plus one new project that adds a fresh, documented win.

  • A STAR story bank from clubs, sports, service, and jobs they already did
  • One real project intentionally designed and run during the school year
  • A named reference who can speak to their work
  • A public project post and portfolio document
  • Application-ready language for essays, activity descriptions, and recommendation packets

What is included

One monthly session

A dedicated video meetup for high schoolers on its own time slot. No community app, no weekly pressure — just one focused hour a month.

A 9-month curriculum

Each month builds one application artifact: a STAR story bank, a project brief, a reference request, a public project post, and more.

Summer office hours, included

The curriculum runs during the school year. If your student wants to keep a project going over the summer, drop-in video hours and email check-ins are included in the annual fee — no extra cost, no required assignments.

Parent consent built in

Every student under 18 joins through a parent or guardian. Guardians can attend any session, and safety settings come before any public profile work.

Questions parents ask

Why is this cheaper than the college membership?

High schoolers get one monthly session rather than the broader repeating Meetup schedule, and they don't use the community app. That keeps the price at $99/year per student — less than most families already spend on a single activity or club season.

What if my student already has volunteer hours and club work?

That's exactly where we start. The first month turns every old activity into a STAR story so nothing gets lost. Then we design one new project that creates fresh application proof and shows qualities like leadership, communication, initiative, and follow-through.

Will this help with scholarships too?

Yes. Scholarship committees read the same essays and activity lists as admissions officers. Clear project evidence and a named reference make the same material stronger in both places.
